Five blocks of J&K among top 15 Aspirational Blocks in India

JAMMU, June 27: Five blocks of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have secured positions in the top 15 out of around 500 Aspirational Blocks across the country. The latest performance rankings highlight remarkable developmental progress in these areas, reflecting the UT administration’s focused efforts toward grassroots transformation.

 Under the ABP, 10 blocks of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have been selected for transformation and five among them have secured positions in top 15 out of around 500 Aspirational Blocks across the country as per the latest report of the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog.

Ichegoza Block of Pulwama has secured overall 2nd rank while as Tulail Block of Bandipora has secured 8th rank. Similarly, Mankote Block of Poonch has secured overall 9th rank, Keran Block of Kupwara emerged as 10th in the overall ranking and Thakrakote Block of Reasi has secured 13th rank.

As far as other five blocks are concerned, Khawas block of Rajouri has bagged overall 60th rank while as Khari block of Ramban has secured 85th rank.
