RAMBAN, JUNE 25: In a significant push to strengthen the agricultural and allied sectors in Ramban, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) being implemented across the district.
The meeting aimed at accelerating the execution of various components under HADP to enhance farmers’ income, promote sustainable practices and boost rural livelihoods.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of ensuring equitable and balanced development across all panchayats. He directed all line departments to intensify efforts to achieve 100% coverage of HADP and other schemes at the grassroots level ensuring uniform and inclusive development across the district.
He also highlighted the need for the active participation of farmers in the implementation process, stressing that their awareness and engagement are key to the success of HADP.
Focusing on the horticulture sector, the DC directed CHO to identify potential areas for fruit cultivation, ensure quality production, scale up output, and mandated the enrollment of at least 7,500 farmers on the portals while emphasizing enhanced local agricultural production to address unemployment.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the Chief Planning Officer to compile daily reports on HADP implementation and monitor the progress meticulously.
The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer Shakeeb Rather, CAHO and District Nodal Officer (HADP) Dr. Rajesh Arora, CAO Vinay Jandial, DSHO Dr Shabir Khan, CHO Rajinder Kumar, Area Marketing Officer Tashin Iqbal Chib, Assistant Directors of Fisheries Attahullah Khan, District Sericulture Officer Sanjay Rohmetra and other concerned officers.
