Jammu,June20: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah flagged off five buses donated by J&K Bank under CSR to Govt Degree Colleges in Jammu Division.
The keys were handed over in the presence of Higher Education Minister Sakeena Itoo, Advisor to CM Nasir Aslam Wani, Additional Chief Secretary (Higher Education Department) Shantmanu (IAS) and the Bank’s GM & Divisional Head (Jammu) Sunit Kumar besides senior officials of higher education department and the Bank.
"J&K Bank plays a vital role in the UT’s economy, and I’m glad to see it supporting educational infrastructure.
Initiatives like these will surely benefit students,” said the CM while handing over the keys.
Commenting on the initiative, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee said, “We at J&K Bank firmly believe that access to education is foundational to the region’s growth and development. This initiative aligns well with our commitment to equitable development as it ensures inclusive access to education, which is also a key focus of the J&K Government".
Notably, the initiative aims to ease student commute and strengthen rural education infrastructure across J&K.
