JMC to plant 60,000 Saplings within 2 Months: Devansh Yadav

Jammu, Jun 18: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has set a target of planting 60,000 saplings across the city within the next two months, a senior official said on Wednesday.

Launching the ‘Clean Jammu, Green Jammu’ campaign, in collaboration with the Urban Forest Division, JMC commissioner Devansh Yadav said it aims to promote environmental conservation and foster a culture of green responsibility among citizens.

According to an official statement, the plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, including senior citizens, former councillors, who adopted saplings and took a pledge to care for them. Yadav, who planted Gulmohar saplings at a vacant site along the canal bank, said a total of 60,000 saplings would be planted under the campaign before August 15.

He said each sapling will be tagged with a QR code, providing detailed information about the plant species and the adopter responsible for its care.
