Jammu , May 26: As part of the ongoing Operation Ploughing, an intensive anti-illegal mining initiative launched by SP South _Sh. Ajay Sharma-JKPS_ under the supervision of . SSP Jammu _Sh. Joginder Singh-JKPS_ Jammu Police, South Zone, has once again demonstrated resolute action in this area.
In the latest development, two vehicles involved in unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals were seized during surprise checking conducted by police units in Phallian Mandal and Belicharana under the supervision of SDPO South _Sh. Sunil Jasrotia_.
A JCB machine (JK02CX 7625) was seized by Police Post Phallian Mandal while it was being used for illegal extraction of sand.
A tipper (JK02AT 1386) loaded with sand and operating without any valid mining permit was intercepted and seized by Police Post Belicharana. Both vehicles were found violating the norms of mineral transportation and excavation. The District Mineral Officer (DMO), Jammu has been duly informed for further action. These seizures reflect the South Zone’s consistent efforts to curb environmental exploitation and enforce legal accountability in the mining activities. In a separate drive against narcotics, three drug peddlers were apprehended from different areas within South Zone jurisdiction.
The individuals have been booked under relevant sections.
