Anti-Corruption Bureau arrests District Transport Officer for bribing ASP & others in Rajasthan

Jaipur, May 25: The Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Sawai Madhopur's District Transport Officer, Punyaram Meena after officials found evidence suggesting that he was making monthly payments to Additional Superintendent of Police and then in-charge of the ACB unit in Sawai Madhopur, Surendra Kumar Sharma now behind bars to avoid being targeted in corruption probes.

On May 19, the ACB took Sharma into custody along with two alleged middlemen, prompting the bureau to widen probe to include officials from the transport, forest, and mining departments.

On Wednesday, the ACB arrested Inspector Vivek Soni, another officer posted in Sawai Madhopur.

According to ACB DIG Rajesh Singh, digital evidence, including mobile phones seized from Soni and a middleman, revealed that Soni was receiving monthly bribes, particularly from transport department official's

Singh stated that Soni was getting Rs 20,000 per month through a middleman, and the bureau gathered evidence to support the claim.
