NC fighting war for the restoration of the statehood and special status of Jammu and Kashmir: Dy CM

Srinagar, May 23: The Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary said that National Conference (NC) was fighting a war for the restoration of the statehood and special status of Jammu and Kashmir.

He said this in reaction to the statement made by the Peoples Democratic Party that the resolution passed by the Central Working Committee should have been passed in the Assembly.

He reversed that they are like a sunken ship which has gone to the depth of the sea and there is no way back. Will they show us what we are doing,” Deputy CM told reporters.

He added that “I want to ask PDP, during the last 10 years, six years go to their share and what ever happened in Jammu and Kashmir who is responsible for that.

He said that Article 370 was scrapped and J&K was downgraded to UT after PDP joined hands with the BJP. Why did they make an alliance with the BJP at that time? And even today, they have an alliance from within.

He, however, said that under the guidance of National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah, and the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah, they are still fighting a war to make Jammu and Kashmir a State again from UT. We are still fighting a war to restore the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and restore the respect and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Deputy CM said.
