Mumbai, May 20: The Mumbai Police’s Economic Offences Wing arrested Indian Police Service officer husband P. Chavan in a cheating case involving Rs 24.78 crore.
In February, the EOW registered two cases against Chavan for the alleged offences between March 2015 and April 2024 & Chavan was arrested in the first case, in which he and 11 others are accused of allegedly duping 20 people of Rs 24.78 crore under the pretext of selling them government quota flats in Mumbai, Thane, and Pune at concessional rates using his influence in the government.
Chavan was produced in the court and was remanded into police custody till May 26 by the court.
