Anantnag, 17th May 2025– As part of the ongoing review of the functioning of various units, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Armed J&K, visited the headquarters of IRP 11th Battalion at DPL Anantnag.
2. Upon his arrival, Shri Jain was warmly received by Shri Javid Iqbal Matoo, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range, along with other senior officers. He was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by a contingent of the IRP 11th Battalion.
3. The ADGP conducted a comprehensive inspection of various unit establishments and associated offices within the complex, assessing operational preparedness and administrative functioning.
4. A special Darbar was also convened on the occasion, during which personnel raised concerns related to service conditions and welfare issues.
5. Shri Jain patiently listened to their grievances and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officers for prompt resolution of genuine issues. He assured that all legitimate grievances would also be addressed at the Armed Police Headquarters (APHQ) level.
6. As part of the visit, Shri Jain planted saplings of deodar trees, promoting environmental sustainability. While addressing the Darbar, he commended the dedication and hard work of the personnel and encouraged active participation in ongoing refresher courses.
7. Emphasising cyber security awareness, the ADGP advised personnel to exercise caution while using social media platforms. He stressed the importance of not sharing passwords or PINs and recommended adopting strong passwords and two-factor authentication to safeguard personal accounts.
8. Highlighting the growing threat of cyber fraud, he underscored the need for vigilance and keeping abreast with evolving technologies to protect personal information and official data.
9. In light of the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025, the ADGP urged all officers and personnel to maintain high levels of vigilance and operational preparedness. He also emphasized the importance of cleanliness within the premises and directed regular sanitation drives to ensure hygiene standards. Furthermore, he instructed Commandants to ensure regular medical check-ups for all personnel to promote health and well-being.
10. During the visit, Sh. Jain also inspected Hindu and Sikh minority pickets located at Thajiwara and Push Kreeri, respectively. He reviewed the security arrangements and issued on-the-spot instructions to Guard Commanders to remain extra vigilant and alert.
