SRINAGAR, May 16: Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani, today said the Jammu and Kashmir Government will ensure the reconstruction of homes and commercial properties damaged by cross-border shelling along the Line of Control.
Speaking to Media Persons, he said that the Chief Minister has assured he would request the Central Government for a special financial package to support affected families.
Wani added that we know that losses and hardships suffered by residents in the border areas of Poonch, Uri, Tangdar, and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir due to continued shelling & we have lost precious lives and witnessed massive destruction of houses and businesses.
Now, it is our duty to compensate for these losses & emphasized that the Chief Minister had personally visited the worst-hit areas to assess the damage on the ground. He has seen the situation in Uri and other regions himself.
Wani added that Chief Minister has already assured that he will request the Centre to grant a special package for the reconstruction of homes, shops, and other commercial buildings & tenants who have also suffered losses would not be left out.
