New Delhi, May 10: Central Bureau of Investigation is conducting searches at residential and official premises of accused IRS officer of 2005 batch at eleven locations in Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar in a case related to disproportionate assets.
A case was registered by CBI against accused IRS officer of 2005 batch and his wife, for acquiring disproportionate assets.
It was alleged that said accused has intentionally enriched himself illicitly and has been found in possession of pecuniary resources disproportionate to his known sources of income.
It was also alleged that wife of the accused IRS Officer abetted the acquisition of disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs. 13158291.11, i.e. 156.24%, of the known and legal sources of income.
It was further alleged that accused invested huge amount of ill-gotten funds in acquiring properties in Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar and Mumbai.
As part of the investigation of the case, extensive searches are being carried out at eleven locations in Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar including the premises of accused and his associates.
During these searches, incriminating documents and digital devices have been seized so far. Searches are continuing.
