Lt Governor J&K  orders for appointment of 23 District Judges on ad-hoc basis

Jammu, Apr 29: Vide Government Order No. 4779-JK(LD) of 2025. Dated. 29-04- 2025, Lt Governor ordered as under:-

As recommended by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and in terms of rule 20 of the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Judicial Service Rules, 2009, sanction is hereby accorded to the extension in ad-hoc appointment of the following District Judges, appointed vide Government Order No. 14014-JK(LD) of 2024 dated 05- 08-2024, for a further period of six months with effect from the expiry of the date of their previous term i.e. 04-02-2025 or till the posts are filled up on regular basis, whichever is earlier, copy with CTN with, whose names are under:-

1 Prem Sagar 2 Archana Charak 3 Abdul Qayoom Mir 4 Manzoor Ahmad Zargar 5 Yahya Firdous Ahangar 6 Manoj Parihar 7 Bashir Ahmad Munshi 8 Manjeet Rai 9 Anjum Ara 10 Manzoor Ahmad Khan 11 Rajni Sharma 12 Madan Lal 13 Ahsan-Ullah Parvez Malik 14 Vinod Kumar 15 Arun Kumar Kotwal 16 Sushil Singh 17 Ramesh Lal 18 Mansoor Ahmad Lone 19 Parvin Pandoh I/518117/2025 LAW-Jud/59/2021-10-Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs 20 Faizan Ul Haq Iqbal 21 Noor Mohd. Mir 22 Swati Gupta 23 Rafia Hassan.

The aforesaid extension in the ad-hoc appointment shall be subject to the following conditions:

i. The ad-hoc appointment shall not confer any right to claim seniority or any other superior right to the ad-hoc appointees viz-a- viz those who may be appointed pursuant to regular selection against direct or LCE quota; and

ii. The ad-hoc appointees shall be reverted to the cadre of Civil Judges (Sr. Division )/Sub Judges in case they are not found fit for promotion to the post of District Judge after regular selection process or in case sufficient posts are not available for their promotion on regular basis.
