24 years old Trainee Officer loses his life at Indian Naval Academy

New Delhi, March 30: Vice Admiral CR Praveen Nair, the Commandant of the Indian Naval Academy, has expressed deep condolences following the tragic passing of Assistant Commandant Rabijith R, a 24-year-old trainee officer who collapsed during a routine training exercise at the INA in Ezhimala.

He added that despite the prompt efforts of medical personnel at the Naval hospital located within the Academy, they were unable to revive him.

Assistant Commandant Rabijith R was a participant in the 41st Naval Orientation Course (Regular) for the Indian Coast Guard. 

His unexpected demise represents a significant loss not only to the Indian Coast Guard but also to the broader Indian Naval community.

In a statement, Vice Admiral Nair conveyed his sympathies to the grieving family, reinforcing the Navy’s commitment to providing support during this challenging time.

He acknowledged the young officer’s steadfast devotion to his duties and assured the family that the Navy would stand by them.
