New Delhi, March 18: The Central Pension Accounting Office of the government has issued new guidelines for timely payment of pension to retired government employees under the National Pension Scheme.
Under this, NPS cases will be settled on the lines of the old pension system. With this step, NPS members will not face any delay in getting pension. Many government and private sector employees coming under NPS had complained that they were not getting pension on time.
The CPAO has reminded the officers involved in the pension process to follow the procedures prescribed for OPS. This instruction was also given earlier on 18 December 2023.
To speed up the pension process, all documents have been asked to be submitted online. This will enable tracking of their status. 3. The number of pension payment order books has been limited to two, to simplify the process.
A special task force has been formed to ensure better coordination among all departments and agencies.
