Srinagar, March 4: Mr. Shahbaz Mirza, who assumed charge as Managing Director of the J&K Housing Board yesterday, held his first review meeting with employees today from Srinagar.

During the session, he was briefed on the organizational structure, its operational setup, and the ongoing projects under Capex, as well as deposit works being executed on behalf of various departments across different locations.

The MD also reviewed the board’s revenue generation, challenges in collection, and the measures being implemented to enhance efficiency.

Emphasizing the need for accountability and responsiveness, he directed staff to work with dedication and empathy, particularly in addressing the long-pending files from the past year that directly impact the general public including NOCs files.

This directive comes as a much-needed relief for allottees of various housing colonies who have endured administrative stagnation over the past year.

Insiders form Cross Town News that the tenure of the outgoing MD, Mr. Ashish Gupta, had negligible physical or financial progress for the board, as allottees often had to wait for months for approvals related to NOCs, plot transfers, and other essential clearances , which lead to financial loss in terms of Transfers fees and other fess.

Allottees, of colonies, have expressed gratitude to the administration for posting new MD in Housing Board J&K.

With high hopes pinned on the new MD, there is growing anticipation that Mr. Mirza will bring the much-needed momentum to the Housing Board’s functioning and start delivering results at the earliest.
