Jammu & Kashmir Day celebrated with fervor & gaiety in New Delhi

Jammu, Jan 19: A winter carnival marking the celebration of Jammu & Kashmir Day was held today at New Moti Bagh Club, New Delhi. The event was organized by the Resident Commission, Govt. of Jammu & Kashmir in collaboration with New Moti Bagh Residents Welfare Association.

The event was convened by the joint efforts of Sh. Sudhandu Pandey,IAS, President, NMB-RWA and Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS. The venue exuded a pleasant aesthetic ambience tempting the visitors to click selfies in the instagrammable environment displaying the paitings curated during the famous Sambhaav Utsav held in the Resident Commission in 2024. Dr. Rashmi Singh, IAS, Principal Resident Commissioner expressed her delight envisioning upstride of Sambhaav Utsav in the form of this carnival.

Shri Sudhanshu Trivedi, IAS, President,NMB-RWA expressed his gratitude for this cultural and artistic extravaganza showcasing the true spirit of J&K. The event was a testimony to the rich and diverse cultural heritage of J&K. The wintry air of Delhi was laced with the beguiling aroma of Kashmiri gourmet & Dogri cuisine.

The festive platter included wazwan thali for the non-vegetarian palettes as well as lip smacking spicy vegetarian delicacies. The saffron aroma of the piping hot Kashmiri hot Kehwa swirled in the air thrilling all the taste buds. In addition to the enticing culinary delights,people also enjoyed the foot tapping cultural performance which included Kashmiri,Dogri and Pahadi folk performances sponsored by J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation by the local residents mainly comprising of senior bureaucrats and their families. The authentic intricately designed Pashmina shawls, especially the GI tagged ones, sarees, pherans, paper machie artwork attracted staggering number of buyers. Shruti Bhardwaj, JKAS and Dr.Rekha Jad were the nodal officers for the event which truly showcased the colorful hues of Jammu & Kashmir’s craft, culture and cuisine in the national capital.
