Surankote, Sept 23: Rahul Gandhi while speaking in a election rally said that in India, Union Territories have been converted into states many times. States have also been divided, like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand and Bihar.
But for the first time in India’s history, a state has been downgraded to a Union Territory. Your democratic rights have been taken away.
He added that our first demand is to restore your statehood and give back your rights. We will put pressure on central government to get this done, and if they don’t, we will make it happen for you.
