JAMMU,Oct 23:Stating that the BJP has entered into alliance with the PDP to honour the mandate of the people of the state and provide transparent, corruption free and people-friendly administration, Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh said that power for us is a mean to serve the people.Dr. Nirmal Singh, alongwith Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Industries & Commerce Minister Chander Prakash Ganga, Minister for Health & Medical Education Ch. Lal Singh, Minister of State for Education, Information & Culture Priya Sethi, MP Shamsher Singh Manhas, District President & MLA Rajesh Gupta and other leaders performed havan and later garlanded the statue of Pt. Premnath Dogra on his 131st birth anniversary on October 23 and paid glowing tributes to him.


Dr. Nirmal Singh, said that the BJP is in the government today, which is the result of the seed sown by Pt. Premnath Dogra, who had stood for strengthening nationalist forces, equal treatment to all the regions and played a key role in “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” movement.
“The month of October is very sacred and important for us as number of events like Birthday of Maharaja Gulab Singh, Ram Navmi, Dussehra festival, Pt. Premnath Dogra birthday and Accession Day, all fall in this month and each of these occasions carry positive significance and message for the people”, Dr. Singh said and added that today is not only the day to pay tributes but to take pledge to fight the forces which are working to create wedge between the state and rest of the country. He said that we have to take pledge to chalk-out our future role while keeping in mind the supreme sacrifices of Indian soldiers, security forces, policemen and the civilians, who laid down their lives for the cause of the nation in J&K. He also declared to develop River Tawi on the pattern of Sabarmati, accelerating the work for multi-tier parking at bus stand and Panjtirthi, developing border tourism in Suchetgarh, setting up on Yoga Centre at Mantalai, restoration of glory of historical Mubarak Mandi complex, naming Baglihar Technical Institute in the name of Amarnath Bhagat and commissioning of Baglihar Project in coming days are some of the projects about which the people had been dreaming since long and will soon see light of the day. 

 

Kavinder Gupta said that right from the days of Praja Prishad to Bharatiya Jana Sangh and present day BJP, it is a long tumultuous history and Pt. Premnath Dogra will always be remembered as the towering leader of the entire chapter of struggle of 1952 and subsequent agitations.
Chander Prakash Ganga said that the ideology and principles of Pandit ji made him a different leader than the others and one of the great quality in him was that he had respect for all faiths and castes.


Shamsher Singh Manhas said that the real source of inspiration for the nationalist people had been Pt. Premnath Dogra. He was an unparalleled personality without any peers and people from all walks of life always saw in him a voice for Jammu. He has setup a example for the nationalist people and which is hard to emulate and shall always remain a beacon of light.Priya Sethi said that whatever initiatives were taken by Pt. Premnath Dogra proved a strong tool in cementing the nationalist people together to fight the anti-national forces.

 

BJP Senior leader Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta said that Pandit ji was a visionary leader and always succeeded in achieving what he took into hand and hence became a tallest leader of his times.BJP Senior leader Chander Mohan Sharma said that the behavior, mass contact and leadership qualities earned Pandit ji the distinction of being a mass leader, who kept himself associated with the people. 

 

Rajesh Gupta said that Pandit ji’s contribution was not only confined to J&K and the whole nation had high regards and respect for this noble soul.The celebratory programme was organized by Jammu District BJP under its President & MLA Rajesh Gupta, while the proceedings of the programme were conducted by State General Secretary Munish Sharma.
