Need to act tough by SIC on non compliance of RTI Act across J&K

Er. Rajesh Gupta

JAMMU,  April 25: RTI  Act was established to ease the public get the information within a specified period of time but seems to be in air.

CTN has lot of example of violation of the act, where even Ist  Appeals on the same RTI are not cared for by the big offices like Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, SSRB etc. etc.

Proved example is that one application under RTI with postal order of Rs. 10 vide receipt no. 8593 was received by SSRB, Jammu. No reply in prescribed time Ist Appeal was filed duly receipt no. 793 dated 01.02.2017.

No reply by SSRB speaks how the RTI is taken care of in J&K State by the big bosses.

Another  application under RTI was given to PIO, Divisional Commissioner office, Jammu. No reply Appeal was filed but applicant was informed vide No. 801/AA-RTI/63-64 dated 22.12.2018 to appear before Ist AA on 29.12.2016.

Interestingly applicant informed that it was informed to Ist AA of Div. Com. Office to direct the PIO to provide the information as required in form-1 as the applicant was out of station and  till date applicant didn’t get the information.

If SIC wanted to work, these are the two fit examples to see that how the big offices of the state throw the RTI Act into the air.
