J&K Govt directs schools to promptly issue ‘"School leaving certificates’"

Srinagar, April 22: The Director of School Education Jammu has asked all private schools to promptly issue School Leaving Certificates to students who are facing difficulties in seeking admission to other schools.

The Director of School Education Jammu said that numerous complaints have been received from parents regarding the delay in the issuance of School Leaving Certificates by private schools.

This delay is causing significant challenges for students who are trying to secure admission in other schools or government schools.

He emphasized that such actions by private schools are not appropriate and also violate the guidelines set by the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

To address this issue, the Director has urged all CEOs/Cluster Heads/DDOS/ZEOs and heads of private schools to allow provisional admission to these students based on verification from UDISE.

This will ensure that the education of students is not hindered. Additionally, the Director said that the Chief Education Officers will assist students in acquiring Transfer Certificates from their schools.
