PD SAMAGRA Rakesh Magotra takes detailed tour of Udhampur for 02 days

Jammu 17.04.2024:  Project Director Samagra Shiksha, Rakesh Magotra took detailed tour, of Udhampur District for 02 days and inspected the ongoing Civil works and innovative labs established in various Schools of the District under Samagra Shiksha.

Chief Education Officer Udhampur Geetu Sharma welcomed the Project Director at HSS Tikri. Executive Engineer Sarwar Mehmood, Coordinator Quality, Ajeet Sharma, Principal of the HSS Tikri, Rahul Bakshi, AE Samagra Shiksha, other concerned AEs/JEs accompanied the Project Director, at the construction site of Model Kindergarten being constructed by the PW(R&B) Department, comprising of Classrooms, Staff room, innovative Laboratories at HSS Tikri.

The Executive Engineer informed that, the work at HSS Tikri was taken up with the approved cost of Rs. 1.98 crores and is at the finishing stage and shall be completed in a months time.

PD Samagra Shiksha asked the Engineers, to put Logo of Samagra Shiksha on front wall besides, display of beautiful Bala features in the Kindergarten building. PD Samagra Shiksha also inspected the construction work of School Building at HS Nagulta, Chenani situated at top of the hill, where 05 Classrooms are being constructed and HS Malhar where Model Kindergarten is being constructed under Augmentation Plan of Samagra Shiksha.

The concerned x-En informed that works are going with full pace and shall be completed in next 3 months. He asked the Executive Engineer to double the efforts and get the pace of the work expedited so that, the Quality infra structure may be dedicated to the children of the area.

During the tour, the Project Director also assessed the Ground level scenario regarding Quality of education & availability of Infrastructure in the schools of the district.

In Udhampur District. in last few years, under Samagra Shiksha 538 works were taken up out of which 288 works stand completed and 114 works are in progress. 136 new works are in tendering process.

PD also emphasized the initiatives under Samagra Shiksha and stressed the importance of effectively implementing the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) Policy.

The goal is to promote inclusive, equitable, and context-specific opportunities for all children under 6 years old to enhance their learning capacity.

He further reiterated that Administrative Secretary Dr. Piyush Singla, IAS, has consistently stressed the importance of ensuring quality infrastructure in all educational institutions, including those in the most remote areas of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

This is to facilitate access for students at all levels and meet the educational requirements of the region, PD Samagra Shiksha also visited the Kasturba Gandhi BalikaVidyalaTangdar, Chenani, where he interacted with the Students and listened their issues.

He also asked the Executive Engineer to complete the balance finishing work within one month, so that Students may not face the problem.

He also informed that, 4651 Girls belonging to disadvantaged groups are residing in KGBVs- Residential schools across the UT. During the interactive session with teachers and students, PD Samagra accentuated the importance of boosting enrolment in government schools and encouraged teachers to deliver high- quality education. He said that the New Education Policy requires the teaching community to fully embrace a child-centred curriculum.

Additionally, he underscored the significance of vocationalisation and contextualization of education. He also visited the HSS Udhampur, Batalwallian and Sudhmadev, where he took review of functioning of Astro Physics labs established by Samagrashiksha in collaboration with IIT Kanpur and Virtual Reality Lab.

He asked the HoIs to keep these labs open for the Students of peripheral Schools falling in the School complexes and Education Zones, so that maximum utilization may be ensured to boost the scientific temper among students.

He further assured all cooperation and full support to the Teaching fraternity and hoped for achieving the Sustainable goals mentioned in the NEP 2020, so that improvised education system may be put in place.
