KATHUA, April 16: On the directions of DC Kathua, District Mineral Officer, Kathua Rajinder Singh lodged two more FIRs for illegal transportation of mineral here today.
The FIRs have been lodged in the police station Rajbag and Hiranagar against the vehicles for illegal transportation of mineral & two FIRs for similar violations have already been lodged in last week.
The Joint Director Geology and Mining conducted the verification of vehicles and passed instructions to the DMO for lodging FIRs and immediately intimate after their registration in the concerned police stations.
DMO further informed that the vehicles shall face proceedings under Rule-81(iii) of Jammu and Kashmir Minor Mineral Concession Storage, Transportation of Minerals and Prevention of Illegal Mining, 2016 notified vide SRO-105 and Section-21 of Mines and Mineral (Development & Regulation) Act, 1957 and under other relevant provisions of the law.
DMO has further appealed peoples associated with mining business for lifting mineral only from authorized locations and on valid e-challan and for any type of violation, strict actions shall be initiated to the extent of confiscation of their vehiles involvd in illegal mining.
