Srinagar, April 16: Several people are feared missing after a boat capsized in the river Jhelum in Srinagar’s Batwara area.
At least four persons including Minors have died while three persons are undergoing treatment at Srinagar’s SMHS hospital after a boat capsized in river Jhelum on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, the rescue operation was launched and seven persons were evacuated to the hospital.
LG J&K Manoj Sinha said “I am deeply grieved by the loss of lives due to a boat accident in Srinagar. My thoughts are with the bereaved families & I pray to the Almighty to give them strength to withstand this immense loss.
Team of SDRF, Army & other agencies are carrying out relief & rescue work.”
