Hanjura distributes IAY cheques among 63 BPL beneficiaries

BUDGAM, FEBUARY 27 - Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today distributed Indra Awas Yojna (IAY) cheques worth Rs 4.72 lakh among 63 Below Poverty Line (BPL) families of block Chrar-e-Sharief, Surisyar, Chadoora, Nagam and Pakharpora of Chrar-e-Sharief Constituency for construction of dwelling units at a function held, here today.

District Development Commissioner, Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad, other senior officers of District administration and a large number of people were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said the present Government, headed by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, is committed to upgrade the living standards of the people of State especially weaker sections of the society. He said various Centrally Sponsored flagship programmes have been launched in the State to provide better facilities to the people. He added that the Government is keen to provide better road connectivity, healthcare, education, power and drinking water facilities to the people. He stressed upon the officers to put in extra efforts for effective implementation of Government schemes meant for socio- economic uplift of the people.

Asking people to come forward and take advantage of the welfare schemes, Mr Hanjura said it is the prime responsibility of the people to monitor the works and actively involved themselves in the developmental works. He said centre is providing liberal funding for the welfare and development of the State but need is to identify the works.
