Ganga holds series of public meetings at Bari Khad

SAMBA, FEBRUARY 26- Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga today held a series of meetings at Bari Khad, Khatana Mohalla and Meen Charkan of Vijaypur assembly constituency and listened to grievances raised by public there.

The Minister directed AEE PWD Bari Brahmana Sub-Division to submit proposal for road upgradation and improvement works from Meen Charkan to Bari Khad and Dharmsaal. It was an ancient road and was used during the rule of Maharaja Gulab Singh and now lies in dilapidated condition. He emphasized upon the importance of this vital road link as it will boost tourism and reduce distance to Purmandal and Utterbehani thereby promoting religious tourism. Besides, he directed PHE authorities to install pump set and perform necessary repairs for improving the water supply in the area.

The Minister informed that Bari Panchayat has been selected for development under ‘Tribal Sub Plan’ with an allocation of Rs 20 crore.  He added that ‘holistic development’ is main agenda and priority of the coalition Government and it is continuously working towards this objective. He further said numerous central and state Government schemes have been launched for common masses and stressed on effective dissemination of information regarding these schemes. 

The public appreciated the gesture of minister and appealed for implementation of the directions in a time bound manner. The Minister was accompanied by officials from PHE, PDD, PWD and Rural Development Departments.
