Govt’s thrust on holistic development, socio-economic empowerment: Hanjura


SRINAGAR, FEBUARY 26- Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura, has said that present dispensation is committed to holistic development of J&K with emphasis on socio-economic empowerment of the people.

“The Government is endeavoring hard for the State’s sustained development by laying special thrust on improving socio-economic profile of the people especially living in far flung areas”, the Minister said while enumerating the developmental initiatives launched by the administration in this regard.

The Minister was addressing a public gathering here today to take stock of public grievances besides taking appraisal of ongoing development works.

Referring to achievements of the government during the past over one year, the Minister said the commitment of the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti is reflected by the innovative developmental and welfare measures launched by the government. He said it is the commitment of the government to address all issues of the people on priority.

Referring to the developmental works under execution in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency, Hanjura said several initiatives are in pipeline on developmental front to ensure all-round development and transformation of the Constituency. He said efforts are afoot to develop Chrar-e-Sharief on modern lines and several initiatives have been taken in this regard.

The Minister said liberal funding is being provided by the Central government under different sectors for meeting development needs of the people. He said during 2016-2017 an amount of Rs 1.5 crore was sanctioned under Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and utilized on construction of culverts, fencing of graveyards, lanes and drains, link roads and other developmental works including strengthening of power infrastructure in the Constituency.
