JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24 – Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated 30 ft span steel bridge on Main Ranbir Canal at Kotli Shah Dola in RS Pura.
The bridge constructed under Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) at a cost of Rs 2.32 lakh would benefit the people living in Kotli Arjun Singh, Kullian and other adjoining areas in providing them connectivity with the revered shrine of Lord Shiva in the village.
Later, the Minister also paid obeisance in Shiv Temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri and prayed for peace, prosperity and happiness in the State. The festivity celebrates feeling of love and amity of the people of State towards each other, the Minister said, adding that these values should be upheld at all costs.
After witnessing Shobha Yatra taken out by the villagers, the Minister said these festivals provide an occasion to sit together and make a new beginning in life by taking blessings of Lord Shiva.
