JAMMU, Feb 21: J&K Government on Tuesday ordered for restricting the number of guests invited in the marriage functions, engagement parties and other parties to avoid wastage of food during the functions.
CAPD Minister Zulfkar Choudhary has given 40 days grace period for the implementation of the order.
The said order has been passed on representation made by Social and Religious organization on wastage of essential commodities in extrvaganza function is Jammu & Kashmir.
An official told Cross Town News that concerned DCs will look after its implementation.
As per the order only 500 guests for daughter's marriage and 400 for son's marriage are allowed , whereas ring ceremonies people can only invite 100 guests.
The number of dishes to be served are also restricted with seven non-veg and seven Veg dishes besides two items of sweets or ice cream.
The order available with Cross Town News states that No Sweets or Dr fruits will be served with Invitation cards in J&K.
The order states there should be complete ban on the use of DJ/amplfires and speakers which create noise pollution.
No wastage food items should be made at the functions.
The order reads that the Violataors will be punished.
