Priya Sethi inspects Maha Shivratri arrangements at Peer Kho shrine

          JAMMU, FEBRUARY 20 - In order to review the arrangements put in place for the ensuing Maha Shivratri festival, Minister of State for Culture, Tourism, Floriculture and Parks, Priya Sethi today visited the revered historic Peer Kho temple and took first hand appraisal of the preparations made for the celebrations.

          Commissioner, JMC Manmohan Singh, ADC, Jammu and Mela Officer Arun Manhas, Deputy Director, Tourism, concerned senior officers accompanied the Minister during her visit.

          While inspecting the shrine complex, the Minster enjoined upon the administration to ensure that fool proof arrangements for celebrating Maha Shivratri in a grand way are made well in time. She said the festival is one of the major tourist attractions of Jammu city and visiting devotees as well as tourists should have best experience during the festivities.

          Priya Sethi said that for annual Maha Shivratri celebrations from 23rd to 25th February at Peer Kho and other lord Shiva temples, the administration along with JMC, Tourism department and other line departments have made elaborate arrangements. 

          The Minister directed the JMC authorities to launch special sanitation drive during festival days in the city, circular road and viewpoints should be well maintained. Street lights along with other lightening arrangement in the area should also be ensured, she added.

          She directed the Mela Officer to personally ensure that all concerned departments work in close coordination so that the devotees and tourists do not face any inconvenience.

          Senior political leader Mr. Yudhvir Sethi and Mahant Ravi Nath Ji also accompanied the Minister during the visit.
