Div Com reviews roadmap for Srinagar Smart City proposal

          SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 9: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today convened a meeting to review roadmap for implementation of the Srinagar Smart City Proposal.  

          The meeting was informed that the Smart City project would be completed at an estimated cost of over Rs 2900 crore with a vision to transform Srinagar into an eco-friendly and resilient city that celebrates its natural and cultural heritage creating opportunities for all.

          The Divisional Commissioner was briefed that all the components have been incorporated in the roadmap of draft Smart City proposal and new suggestions will also be included in due course of time.

          To make the Srinagar city more attractive, it was said that special focus has been given on the Smart Components which will encourage consistency in urban design and signage, while recognizing the importance of the existing historical architecture and the distinctive character within the community.

          The meeting discussed project’s components like Pan City solutions, Urban Mobility, Urban Environment, Disaster Management, Disaster proof structures, Sensors on Embankment, Intelligent Traffic Management, Cycle Tracks, Smart Poles, Smart Bus Stops, Smart Bins, Smart Waste Management, Flood Mitigation, Earthquake Resilience, Smart Fire Protection, Emergency Response, Non-Polluting Public Transport, Urban Design Moves and other components in detail.

           On the occasion, the Div Com directed officials of the concerned agencies to go through the final draft of Smart City proposal and submit necessary changes and information within a week’s time. 

          He also directed Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to personally monitor roadmap for final draft of Smart City proposal.  

          IGP Kashmir Zone, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar & Commissioner SMC, DIG Traffic, Director ERA, Director Tourism, Director Floriculture, Director Health, Director Archives Archaeology & Museums, VC SDA & LAWDA, Chief Engineer PDD, PHE, I&FC, UEED, Managing Director Housing Board, RTO Kashmir, CEO ERA, Chief Town Planner, SSP Traffic, Executive Officer JAKEDA and other concerned attended the meeting.
