KVK holds 9th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meet at Poonch

POONCH  FEBRUARY 8:  Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK)  Poonch, working  under the patronage of Directorate of  Extension, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology of Jammu  (SKUAT-J)  conducted its 9th Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Raj Kumar Arora,  Associate  Director Extension and I/C  KVKs SKUAT-J , here today.

While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arora stressed for devising pragmatic solutions to problems faced by farmers related to agriculture through synchronization of efforts of KVK with allied departments. He advised the KVK scientists and members of allied departments particularly the Agriculture and Horticulture department for working out a common inventory of training programmes for the betterment of farming community.  He stressed for the value addition and vocations trainings in collaboration with department of Horticulture emphasizing on entrepreneurship development qualities among farmers in general and rural women and youth in particular.

Dr.  Ajay Gupta  I/C Scientist  and Head  formally welcomed the participants of SAC and carried out the technical programme by  presenting the Action Taken Report  Progress  Report  of 201-17 and proposed Action Plan  for the next financial year officers  from the line Department.

Dr A K Razdan, Professor and Head Division of PBG, SKUAST-J  and Dr. Sanjay  kher  Professor Agricultural Engineering SKUAST-J  were also present in the meeting  and put forth their suggestions.

 Among others present were Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticultural Officer, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer, District Information Officer, Assistant Soil Conservation Officer, Lead District Manager, Divisional Forest Officer, District Officer Fisheries and other heads of the line Departments.
