PDP-BJP Government exploiting  people by generating controversies to keep them engaged: Mir

SAMBA, Oct  01:JKPCC Chief Mr. Ghulam Ahmed Mir accused the PDP-BJP Coalition Government for creating controversies as per their match fixing strategy in order to keep the people engaged and to divert the attention of people from the utter failure of the Government in the state.

Addressing a largely attended function in connection with year long celebrations of 125th  Anniversary of  Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Siniki Chhapri in Samba, today JKPCC Chief lashed out at PDP-BJP Government for their exploitation of the people by generating controversies in order to keep the people engaged in different conflicts and to divert their attention from the governance deficit and their failure to fulfill the promises made by them during Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.

Expressing grave concern on the overall situation created by the policies of exploitation by the coalition partners JKPCC Chief said that the present Coalition Government has vitiated the atmosphere of peace and harmony due to their inherent contradictions. He said that Congress would continue to play the role of a unifying force being a secular and progressive political force having strong base in all three regions of the state. He expressed confidence that Congress will stage come back in the Leh Hill Council Elections.

Paying tributes to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the PCC Chief remembered the contribution of   Dr. Ambedkar  in framing the  Indian Constitution wherein the provision for the welfare and the upliftment of  poor,   downtrodden and  each  & every section irrespective of caste, creed colour or religion  was kept and approved by the Constituent Assembly of the Country. He said that Dr. Ambedkar  worked closely with the Congress party leaders in delivering the Indian Constitution and his ideology of social equity and vision of a society free of discrimination is in consonance with the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. The Congress is the only party that has made significant contributions towards the empowerment of downtrodden sections of the society, he added.

The function was attended by Senior Congress leaders of the  party including Shri Sham Lal Sharma- Senior Vice President, Shri Mula Ram,  Shri Raman Bhalla; Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Sdr. Manjeet Singh, Th. Manmohan Singh ( all General Secretaries), Rajnish Sharma-Co-Treasurer, Smt. Indu Pawar-President Pradesh Mahila Congress, Shri Girdhari Lal Chalotra, Shri Prakash Sharma-President DCC Samba, Subash Bhagat,  B.S. Sambyal- Chief Organizer Pradesh Congress Seva Dal, Shri Vinod Mishra, Th. Shiv Dev Singh, Hari Singh Chib, Udhay Bhan Singh Chib-National Secretary NSUI,  Naresh Sharma, Pankaj Dogra, Thirath Ram Bhagat, Sanjeev Sharma, Arun Sharma, Ch. Bashir Malik-President BCC Parmundal, Kubir Singh-President BCC Samba, Ch. Rashpal-Working President BCC Vijaypur, Deepu Singh Sambyal   and others.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Sham Lal Sharma (former Minister) said that it is more important to remember Dr. Ambedkar at the point of time when there are attempts to distort history and dilute the democratic and secular structure in the Country. He lashed out at the forces who are trying to destroy and distort the contribution of the Congress party and its great stalwarts during the freedom struggle and in the post independent  era.  He said that the present dispensations in the Country and in the State are creating  controversies  and conflicts as part of their  diversionary tactics to befool the people and to cover up their failure on all fronts especially to fulfill false slogans during election campaign.

Chairman of  Dr. Ambedkar Memorial Committee Shri Mula Ram, former Minister in his address remembered the contribution of Dr. Ambedkar during freedom struggle and post independence era. He said that Indian constitution formed under his chairmanship is one of the best document in the World which takes care of the aspirations of the largest pluralistic society in the World. He was messiah of the poor and downtrodden in the country and dedicated his life for their upliftment and social integration by protecting their interests in the constitution. He said that Congress party always framed policies and programmes for the welfare and upliftment of SC/STs and other down trodden sections of the society and provided adequate opportunities to reap the benefits of democracy, however certain forces exploited these sections for their vested political interests.

He (Mula Ram) lashed out at those forces who are trying to dilute the reservation to the  oppressed classes and cautioned the people to remain vigilant about the attempts of  such forces. He asked the people to strengthen Congress party as the interest of every section are secured under the Congress leadership.

Shri Raman Bhalla in his address, described Dr B.R.Ambedkar as one of the towering personalities of modern India who will always be remembered for his outstanding contribution for the upliftment of the downtrodden people in this country. He said that because of his relentless efforts for the rights of the under privileged sections of the society and to get them their  constitutional rights in every sphere of life on the principle of equality, the Indian Constitution is a unique document representing the pluralistic character of our Country. He will always be remembered for his pivotal role in formulating the Constitution of India, the largest democracy of the World.

He (Bhalla) also lashed out at the communal forces who have threatened the atmosphere of religious harmony by their rhetoric’s and provocative actions and emphasized on isolating such elements in order to respect the religious sentiments of the people.
