Ganga for raising mass awareness about ‘Startup India’; Policy to reserve 10% industrial land for startups soon

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 06: the Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today said that the ‘Startup India’ scheme will directly help people in opening their own successful entrepreneurship and that a society cannot develop without having innovations and new opportunities for the youths.

Minister said this while attending an awareness programme regarding Startup India initiative organized by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in collaboration with Central University of Jammu, here today.

Ganga said that the initiative of Startup India has been launched with the aim to provide opportunities to the budding entrepreneurs for innovation and development of new products and it is need of the hour to raise massive awareness of Startup India Scheme among youth. He said the scheme will help the youth to showcase their talent through their innovative businesses activities all across the world.

Ganga said that there is dire need to bring in a psychological change in mindset of youth so that they become job creators instead of job-seekers.         

Referring to the scope of reforms, the Minister said that launch of various financial and infrastructural schemes are underway which include Start Up India and Mudra Yojana which are expected to be launched soon in the state. He further said that government has framed a policy to reserve 10 percent industrial land for Startups.

Ganga expressed hope that budding entrepreneurs will seek benefits from the bouquet of schemes available under the state and centre packages respectively.

The Minister further said that the government has accorded priority to provide employment to the local youth in the industrial estates across the state and raise their skills by converging the employment scheme with that of skill development under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

Ganga stressed that Startup India initiative seeks the participation of all stakeholders including educational institutions through online connectivity for effective implementation of the scheme.

A large number of dignitaries including Vice-Chancellor Central University of Jammu Prof Ashok Aima, Director General Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan Major General (Retd) Dilawar Singh, young entrepreneur Farrhad Acidwalla, faculty members, students, officers of various departments were present on the occasion.
