Youth to be equipped with skills required in job market: Imran Raza Ansari Inaugurates ITI-Hyundai Collaboration Workshop

SAMBA, FEBRUARY 6: The Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports, Imran Raza Ansari today said that the government has embarked on a skill development mission aiming to provide employability to the unemployed youth of the state by training and certifying them with skills that are in demand in the current job market.

 Minister said this while inaugurating a Motor Mechanic Vehicle Workshop at Industrial Training Institute Samba which has been established in collaboration with the Hyundai Pvt Ltd. The Minister was accompanied by MLA Samba Dr Devinder Kumar Manyal, DC Samba Sheetal Nanda and Director Technical Education (J&K) Shabnam Shah Kamili.

 On the occasion ITI Samba signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Chandigarh Hyundai Centre under which the company shall provided Technical expertise to ITI Instructors and trainees. Under the MoU, the trainees and instructors shall also be sent to Hyundai Training Centres outside the state for enhancing their skills and the successful trainees shall be absorbed in Hyundai centres.

Minister said the government will help the youth to develop skills that are in demand in the market so that they get employment immediately after completing their diplomas or degrees.  He said if youth is trained in accordance with the trend and demand in the market, then a job is guaranteed to the youth and stressed on the youth to opt for courses, training that are in demand in the market.  

The Minister said that the establishment of workshop has been organized to bridge the gap between skill set required by industries and Institutional training being provided in the automobile sector and urged Hyundai officials to explore the possibility of expanding this initiative in other regions of the state also.  

Minister said the government will tie up with numerous national and multi-national companies so that the skilled human resource produced in our institutions are absorbed in these companies.

He directed officials to initiate steps for increasing seats in trades which can provide better placement opportunities to the students and said that hands-on training must be given along with class room training for creating an efficient workforce.

On the occasion, Officials of Hyundai private limited dedicated a car to the workshop that will be exclusively used for the training purpose. Besides, the company has also given equipments for engines, transmissions and other parts for providing best training to students.

Dy Directors Technical Education M.I Kohli, M.S Parray , Rajinder Gupta, Superintendent ITI Rajesh Gupta and Hyundai officials Jatinder Khera and Ravjit Singh were also present at the programme.

Later, the Minister also visited Govt Polytechnic Samba and inspected the functioning of the institute. He directed officials to ensure that proper care must be given to equipments and infrastructure of the college and also directed officials to complete the leftover works of institute on high priority.
