JAMMU, Jan 24: The Legislative Council on Tuesday passed a resoulution recommending Government to declare Maharaja Hari Singh's birthday as holiday.
The resolution was passed with a voice vote after BJP MLC Ajat Shatru pressed for voting even after Govt spokesman Naeem Akhtar opposed and requested Ajat Shatru to withdraw the resolution.
However AjatShatru pressed and house went to voice vote during which all the opposition members were not present in the Upper House.
The resolution got support from all BJP and PDP legislators except two PDP legislators opposed, Khursheed Alam and Saifudin Bhat.
