SRINAGAR, Sep 24: Hurriyat leader Syed Shah Geelani appealed people not to perform any such act that could hurt the religious sentiments of other communities of Jammu and Kashmir.
“Allah has declared meat of bovine animals’ halal for us. So nobody can declare it as a forbidden entity for us nor can stop us from consuming it. At a time when on the eve of Eid- ul- Azha, we uphold the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S), we must not indulge in any such activity that could hurt the religious sentiments of other religious communities,” Geelani said in a statement.“We appeal hindu brothers not to fall prey to the agenda of RSS and at all costs should not allow anyone to cause any religious divide,” Geelani said while pointing that Muslims do not sacrifice bovine animals in vengeance to any community.(Agencies)
