Jammu, Nov 22: In a petition filed by e-court staff working in High Court and Subordinate Courts in J&K seeking direction to respondents to accord sanction to upgradation of pay scale, a Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court comprising Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justie Javed Iqbal Wani today imposed Rs 5000 cost on Financial Commissioner Finance Department for not complying with the direction.
DB observed that on 25.08.2023, the counsel appearing on behalf of respondent was directed to place the report of the meeting convened by the Finance Secretary and the Registrar General of the High Court on 23.08.2023 but the same has not been done till date.
DB taking serious view over the act of J&K Bosses for non-compliance of the order passed on 25.08.2023, imposed a cost of Rs 5000 upon respondent to be paid from his own pocket and be deposited in the Litigants Welfare Fund before the next date of hearing.
