DODA, SEPTEMBER 14:   Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Mahajan convened a meeting to address pressing issues faced by the Educational Institutions. The meeting primarily focused on the efficient utilization of teaching staff in schools, student's aspirations, staff rationalization, and the punctuality of teaching personnel. One of the key concerns discussed was the presence of an excessive number of teachers in certain town centric schools.

During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Mahajan directed the Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Doda to promptly reassign recently appointed 134 contractual lecturers to schools where their services are urgently needed, and simultaneously remove surplus teaching staff from those schools. This move is aimed at optimizing the deployment of teaching resources to better serve the students.

Additionally, the meeting delved into the issue of E-Kaksha online services for students, especially those residing in remote areas with limited access to subject teachers. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Principal of the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Doda to ensure the continued operation of E-Kaksha labs, catering to students facing challenges in accessing subject-specific teachers.

Deputy Commissioner Mahajan expressed his discontent over recent remarks made by a teacher and instructed the concerned Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) to assign punitive duties in far-flung areas as a consequence of his misconduct. Furthermore, a thorough discussion regarding the surplus teaching staff in various schools ensued, prompting the Deputy Commissioner to call for swift action against excess teachers in schools with a low student enrollment. The DC Doda also directed to the CEO Doda, to make immediate adjustment of the recently appointed contractual lecturers in different schools to compensate the shortage of subjects teaching staff and make rationalization of the excessive teaching staff

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of rationalizing teaching staff not for transfers or promotions but as a crucial step in ensuring the effective functioning of schools. He stressed that the ultimate goal is to provide a seamless and high-quality education to students across the district, especially in remote areas. In conclusion, Deputy Commissioner Mahajan urged ZEOs and principals to prioritize the welfare of schools and students, maintaining a strict focus on their educational mission and discouraging teaching staff from engaging in non-teaching administrative duties. The DC also directed to the principals that the syllabus of all schools across the district should be completed, including all assignments and revision up to the 30 of the November

The meeting was attended by ADDC Doda, ADC Doda, CEO Doda, principal DIET Doda, ZEOs and Principals of all the Government Higher Secondary Schools.
