How stress affects our body and mental well being, discussed in  GCW Parade



Jammu, August 25: PG Department of English, Government College for Women, Parade Ground, Jammu organized a Guest lecture on the topic, "Managing Stress in Youngsters" .

The resource person of the event was Mrs Swati Basotra ( Founder of Talkeasy_Takeasy).

A formal welcome address was presented by Mavi Sapolia. The session started with the resource person, making the attendees acquainted with the basics of Stress Management and introducing different types of stress which are "Eustress and Distress".

She further elucidated the topic by getting into the mechanism of how stress affects our body and mental well being. She also, presented various mediums or tricks on how to decode the root cause of stress and showed various ways for coping and managing stress in a healthy way.

At the end of the session, there was a panel discussion, where the audience eagerly interacted with the resource person and ask for advice on their day to day issues. She also held a private session to address the various queries of the attendees. 

The program concluded with formal vote of thanks, presented by Head of Department of English, Dr Ritu Magotra where she expressed her gratitude to the resource person as well as the audience for their keen attention and participation.

The faculty members included Dr Samriti , Dr Anju Balai , Dr Sonia Khajuria, Dr Seema , Prof. Menka, Dr Shivani Suri and Prof Anuradha Kalsi from the English Department. The event was attended by both the PG and UG wings of the college.
