Make best use of Power Amnesty Scheme, clear outstanding bills: Kavinder ; Seeks similar reprieve for commercial connection holders also


 



JAMMU: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister on Saturday urged those consumers who have not yet cleared their electricity bills to make best use of Amnesty Scheme launched by J&K Government to get rid of outstanding bills.
He was addressing an amnesty camp organized in Gandhi Nagar constituency.

The BJP stalwart asserted that this is one time opportunity to pay-off the pending bills as the government has come up with a philanthropic scheme to lessen the load on the shoulders of the people. He said that government has provided a golden opportunity to the people who could not paid their bills for one reason or the other. He made it clear that it is in the best interest of all that no person having an outstanding bill should miss this chance to clear the dues because it will become difficult to give another chance as already this one is the last one.

The former Deputy Chief Minister also appealed to the government to announce similar panacea  for the commercial connection holders as there are many consumers falling in that category looking for a similar Amnesty Scheme. He said that people should understand that the time has changed as every citizen today demands break-free amenities like power, water, and other civic edifice and to ensure the same the government needs revenue. He said that when people pay their bills on time, the government utilizes the revenue to replenish the resources to ensure continued services but in case of non-payment of bills, things go haywire and disruptions in services become inevitable.

Vinay Gupta BJP District President and Narinder Gupta Koki also accompanied the former Deputy Chief Minister during the camp.

Earlier, Kavinder Gupta started black topping work at Sainik Colony Ward 70 in presence of Corporator Narinder Singh Bunty, lane and drain works at Ward No. 68 in presence of Corporator Anil Kumar and work of laying of tiles at ward 20 in presence of Corporator Rahul Kumar.

While addressing the gatherings at the aforesaid Wards, Kavinder said that the areas in Jammu region which faced discrimination of the successive governments for years together are now been prioritized to see development as never before. He said that the local administration and the central dispensation are working with complete synergy to realize record level of development in J&K. He said that the way the big development projects are fast approaching completion the time is not far away when the J&K Model of development will become common term in the country as no other state or UT is developing with such a lightning speed.
