Remove Photos of PM,CM and Ministers in Poll bound states: ECI

New Delhi, Jan 10 : The Election Commission of India instructed the Chief Electoral Officers of all the five poll-bound states to have the the photos of political leaders removed from hoarding and advertisements.

Congress had moved the EC on Monday, demanding the removal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's photograph from Government posters at public places, including petrol pumps, ahead of the upcoming state assembly polls.

The move comes days after the united Opposition visited ECI and demanded that the Union Budget be presented once the assembly elections are over. The leaders had said that populist measures could be announced in the Budget, which would be detrimental to a just and fair election.
