LEH,Jan 7: A shutdown was observed in Leh by political parties on Saturday against the alleged molestation of an MBBS student by HOD at the Government Medical College in Jammu, demanding the immediate termination of the accused.

The protest was organised by Ladakh Regional Joint Action Committee, comprising youth wings of the Ladakh Buddhist Association, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Anjuman Imamia, and BJP and Congress in Leh district.
The committee later submitted a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to regional authorities at Leh.

They demanded the setting up of a fast-track court, an SIT to probe the matter and appointment of a special prosecutor.
