Potential Homestay Owners in J&K

JAMMU, AUGUST 18: The two day training cum workshop programme for the Home stays owners of Jammu division organised by Jammu and Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) in collaboration with OYO  concluded here today at Convention centre Jammu.

Mission Director, JKRLM, Indu Kanwal Chib, Additional Mission Director, JKRLM, Mridhu Slathia, Staff members and SHG members of JKRLM (UMEED) were also present during the workshop.

The workshop was organised in collaboration with the Global Travel Technology Company, OYO. The thrust area of the workshop was to educate the SHG members regarding the services offered in the homestays and the different ways by which the services under these homestays shall be improved. The dos and don’ts while dealing with the customers was also discussed to enable potential homestay owners (SHG members) to provide quality service to the guests.

The MD JKRLM urged upon the SHG members to take maximum benefit from the training programme and to make the homestay intervention of JKRLM a unique and successful model of entrepreneurship in J&K. Further, she asserted that the aim of such skill programmes is to build the capacity building of the SHG members, so that they turn out to be the potential entrepreneurs of the J&K, UT.

To keep the motivation of the potential homestay owners (SHG members) intact, a cultural programme was performed by the artists of the cultural wing of the Information Department. The performance of the artists was fully cherished by the audiences.

The two day training cum workshop programme concluded with certificate distribution among the potential homestay owners (SHG members). The certificate training distribution ceremony among participants was presided by MD JKRLM and Director, Learning & Development, OYO, India, Swati Sharma.
