DC Kathua asks to work in tandem to achieve desired development targets within a set timeline

KATHUA, JUNE 22: The Block Diwas proceedings were held today at PWD Guest House, Mahanpur, where District Development Council Kathua Chairperson, Mahan Singh and Deputy Commissioner Rahul Pandey listened to the grievances of the people.

The programme witnessed overwhelming response of the public from all walks of life. They highlighted their issues ranging from provisions of Basic Amenities like Drinking Water, Health, Education, road connectivity besides issues of shortage of staff in Schools and Health institutions and several specific issues.

The DDC Chairperson, in his address, laid emphasis on the equal role of PRIs, Administration and common people to achieve tangible results.

He also called for collective efforts and coordination in devising the plans by taking all stakeholders on board to achieve the developmental aspirations of people.

The DC gave a patient hearing to the demands of the people and passed on the spot instructions to the concerned departments for time bound resolution of all the issues.

The DC said that Block Diwas initiative was aimed at reaching out to the people and listening to their grievances and redressing them in an efficient and coordinated manner.

He stressed upon the officers to prioritise the grievances and redress them in a time bound manner. The DC also stressed on the need to make the field staff well versed with the rules and procedures.

He also said that those blocks which are remotely located and not covered under the Block Diwas Schedule will also be covered in coming times.

The DC also stressed upon the PRI representatives and Officers of concerned departments to work in tandem to achieve desired development targets within a set timeline.

He said that for better implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission, there was a need to work with Positive approach and proper planning by involving all stakeholders.

The officers were asked to conduct a detailed audit of the staff and work out modalities for its rationalization to meet the shortage in different departments.

Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and ICDS had set up stalls at the venue of Public Outreach Camp to inform the public about their schemes and programmes.
