New J&K Sports Policy will incentivize UT players, promote sports: Kavinder


JAMMU, Feb 5: Welcoming the new J&K Sports Policy 2022, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta said that the initiative taken by the LG Manoj Sinha’s administration will go a long way in promoting sports culture in the UT of J&K.
He said this after felicitating Paru Manchanda, daughter of late Vivek Manchanda (Bobby), a third year student of MAM College and an outstanding NSS Volunteer, who was the lone representative from J&K in the Republic Day Parade-2022 held at New Delhi.
Kavinder appreciated Paru for her dedication towards social service as the motto of National Service Scheme is ‘Not Me But You’. He said that the youth of the UT should take a cue from her diligence and should take part in activities which can groom their personalities besides bringing laurels to the UT. 
Applauding the LG’s administration for conceiving the new sport policy for the UT, Kavinder said that by way of incentivizing sports through various bountiful offers including jobs and promotions in jobs, the J&K government has opened up the floodgates for the youth to join sporting arena and lead the world. He said that this endeavour of the government will not only provide jobs and other incentives to the youth including cash prizes but will also keep them at a distance from drugs and other evils of society. He said that the step of the government will beyond any doubt has created a win-win situation for the youth and their families and soon the results in the shape of meaningful citizens will start coming in the UT of J&K.    
Corporator Neeraj Puri Ward No 54 and President BJP Gandhi Nagar Mandal, Ankush Gupta District General Secretary, Nayan Gupta, General Secretary Gandhi Nagar Mandal, Vishal Gupta, Secretary and Kapil Khurana Secretary Gandhi Nagar Mandal were also present during the programme.
