KISHTWAR, Sep 12:The Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Saugat Biswas today declared open District level tournament for girls organized under Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan.Girls in large number from eight blocks of the District are participating in the competition in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, basket ball and hand ball. The sports event has been organized by the Youth Services and sports department.
Addressing the participants, Biswas said that the real aim of organizing such competitions is to imbibe sportsmen spirit and leadership qualities among the youth. He advised the students to regularly participate in sports as it keeps them healthy and shapes their personality.
Appreciating the efforts of the Department of youth services and sports in organizing such competitions , the DC assured all possible help to insure that students participate in extra co curricular activities side by side their studies.
Chief Education officer Kishtwar Ab Hamid Fani, prominent citizens and parents witnessed the competitions.
