Bollywood star Nana patekar in Jammu; paid homage to Soldiers


JAMMU, Nov 16: Nana Patekar during his visit in J&K,  has supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation move, saying it will taste like sweet tea for the honest in the country. He was referring to PM Modi's comment at a recent rally where he said banning Rs 500 and Rs 1000 note ban was like his kadak chai which the rich won't like.

Talking about his chaiwalla background, the PM had said, "When I was young, poor people used to tell me: Modiji, chai jara kadak banana." He said he knows the same ‘kadak chai' doesn't go down well with the rich.

The actor also paid homage to the the soldiers and said they were the real heroes. "The soldiers, who serve in uniform at the fron t are our real heroes, they fight a battle everyday to protect the integrity of the nation," Patekar said while interacting with the Jawans of Border Security Force (BSF) in Kathua district.

Patekar, who was on a day-long visit to the Indo-Pak International border in Hiranagar and Kathua, appreciated the hardships and sacrifices being made by the BSF Jawans during the recent cross-border firing. (Agencies)
