Professional training on modern lines vital to sharpen skills of cops: Rajendra

SRINAGAR, Nov 15: Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is strengthening its training infrastructure to train the personnel in modern techniques of professional policing. He said that up-gradation of all Police training institutions in the State is near to us and the training syllabus as per the latest requirements has been implemented for various professional courses. 

Mr. Rajendra, while inspecting a colourful parade of 350 police trainees, who are undergoing basic training at Police Commando Training Centre (CTC) at Lethpora in South Kashmir said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is sharpening the training skills of its personnel to meet the challenges posed by the criminals. He also said that in the present scenario the latest training in the field of crime control, mob controlling, cyber crime, fake currency detection and respect towards human rights has assumed much importance and all these things have been kept in mind while framing new syllabus for the trainees. 

The DGP expressed his satisfaction over the working of the training centre and said that due to the efforts of the Principal and the staff, the institution has been making progress day-by-day. He asked them to continue their efforts in bringing the institution on modern lines of training. Police contingents demonstrated the skills of training which they are being imparted. 

Addressing the darbar of trainees and staff, Mr. Rajendra stressed upon them to serve the people with more dedication and adopt people friendly approach while working in the field. He said that honesty and impartiality should be the motto of men in Khaki while providing justice to the people. JKP has always worked for the betterment of the society and the force is hopeful of scaling new heights in the service of the Nation with the cooperation of the people. 

Mr. Rjendra referring to the role of JKP in dealing the situations, said that the force has faced various hostile situations and has lived up to the expectations of the people by tackling the situations with professionalism. He asked that the trainees after completion of basic training would have to serve the people in different areas of policing and it should be their essential duty to work with dedication and earn a good name for the Organization.           

Earlier, the Principal of Training Centre, Mr. Mehmood Ahmed welcomed the DGP. He informed that 350 jawans of armed and executive police have jointed the Institution in November, 2015 and their training is in final stage and are ready to perform their duties in the field. He apprised the DGP about the training activities being taken by the institution to train the personnel on modern lines of policing. He also briefed the DGP about the developmental works undertaken by the Institution.         

Among others the DGP was accompanied by Special DGP, Coordination/Law & Order, Dr. S. P. Vaid, IGP Kashmir Zone, SJM Gillani, IGP IRP Kashmir Zone, Sunil Kumar, SSP Awantipora, Mohammad Zahid and others Police officers.
