Punjab Toll Plazas defied Modi Govt’s orders of No Tax; Common people from Jammu harassed at Night

JAMMU, Nov 15 No toll would be charged on National Highways  till the midnight of November 18, government said on Monday extending the earlier deadline by four days.

"The government has decided to extend the deadline till midnight of November 18," an official told.

The official said the decision has been taken to ensure smooth traffic movement across all National Highways and provide relief to cash-starved people who are queuing up outside banks and ATMs after Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes were demonetised.

But interestingly few Toll Plazas in Punjab defied the Government orders and were collecting tolls thus causing harassment to innocent and common people.

A commoner from Jammu told Cross Town News that he along with others had gone to Chandigarh to for some work, while going towards Chandigarh in the morning he was not charged but while on the way back from Chandigarh during Night  he was charged Toll from Two Toll plazas and rest of the toll Plazas allowed him to pass through without paying tax as it was the government order to provide relief to commoners from heavy traffic.

The person told Cross Town News that even after discussing with Toll plaza boys that Government has ordered for No Toll, the boys were reluctant and only allowed the person to pass through after paying Toll tax and same was the case with all the passers by.

A high level enquiry needs  to be done in this case that  how Rajdeep Tollways Pvt ltd and D Aggarwal infrastructure Pvt Ltd took Tolls defying Government orders.

Are Toll Plazas taking Undue benefits of Night time on innocent people? , Modi Government should act tough against these Toll Plazas.
