Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes scrapped in India from midnight: PM Modi


NEW DELHI, Nov 08: Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denominations are equal to piece of paper as they are being scrapped  from tonight midnight (8 November 2016).

ATMS wont work on 9 November and 10 November

Respite for people for the initial 72 hours, Govt hospitals will accept old Rs 500 and 1000 notes till 11 November midnight.

ID cards required to return money to banks: Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Limit of cash withdrawal imposed: Rs 10,000 daily and Rs 20,000 weekly.

 

Railways and Airports will accept Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 till November 11.

There will be no change in any other form of currency exchange be it cheque, DD, payment via credit or debit cards etc: PM Narendra Modi.

New Rs 2000 Note and 500 note  to be issued soon.
